Meet the team

Dr Rob Carey is a South Australian gynaecologist with a passion for providing excellent care close to home. As a resident of southern Adelaide himself, Dr Carey founded this practice with a clear vision: to offer women in the area a calm, nurturing environment where their choices and concerns are genuinely respected.

Dr Carey completed his Fellowship in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in South Australia and is one of only a few gynaecologists in Adelaide to have completed a formal fellowship with the Australian Gynaecological Endoscopy and Surgery (AGES) Society. This advanced training allows him to offer complex and sophisticated surgical options, including minimally invasive (keyhole) and pelvic floor surgery, to patients who might otherwise need to travel for such care.

Beyond his surgical expertise, Dr Carey has a particular clinical interest in benign and pre-malignant conditions of the vulva, vagina, and cervix. He holds a senior staff specialist position at Flinders Medical Centre, where he leads both the Colposcopy and Vulva Service and the Invasive Placenta Service. He is also the Medical Lead for the Vulva Service at Flinders and serves as Treasurer of the Australian and New Zealand Vulva Society (ANZVS).

Dr Carey is deeply committed to education and the next generation of gynaecologists. He is the Director of Training for the Flinders Endogynaecology AGES Fellowship and is actively involved in teaching and supervision, including as a member of the state RANZCOG training committee.

Dr Sam Senaratne is an experienced specialist in women’s health with advanced skills in both laparoscopic (keyhole) and vaginal surgery. He provides compassionate, evidence-based care for women at all stages of life.

Before moving to Adelaide in 2023, Dr Senaratne spent nine years caring for women on the Fraser Coast in Queensland, bringing a breadth of experience across the full scope of gynaecological practice. He holds a public appointment at Flinders Medical Centre as a senior staff specialist and works closely with his patients to ensure they feel informed, supported, and empowered in their healthcare decisions.

Dr Senaratne consults in English and is also happy to consult in Sinhala.

Dr Ritu Dutta is a highly skilled specialist in advanced laparoscopic (keyhole) gynaecological surgery, with a particular focus on the surgical management of complex endometriosis. With several years of experience caring for women across southern Adelaide, building on earlier experience at the Lyell McEwin Hospital, she has built a strong reputation for her surgical expertise in this area.

Dr Dutta completed her AGES Fellowship in advanced laparoscopic surgery and has also completed subspecialty training in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (CREI) — the only specialist in Adelaide to hold this combination of qualifications. This dual training allows her to assess and work up patients with reproductive endocrinology and infertility concerns, including early investigation and diagnosis. While IVF and other assisted reproductive treatments are not provided at Southern Adelaide Gynaecology, Dr Dutta is well placed to undertake initial workup and to manage the surgical side of fertility-related conditions, including advanced endometriosis, within the practice.

Dr Nooraishah Yasin is a sub-specialist gynaecological oncologist who also holds a substantive public appointment at Flinders Medical Centre. Her independent practice, SA Gynaecology Oncology, is hosted within the Southern Adelaide Gynaecology rooms at Flinders Private Hospital.

Dr Yasin has advanced laparoscopic skills and employs cutting-edge techniques in the management of gynaecological malignancies. She has been responsible for introducing new techniques to southern Adelaide, including sentinel lymph node mapping for uterine malignancies where clinically appropriate — bringing care previously only available elsewhere in the state closer to home for local patients.

Dr Yasin is deeply dedicated to the care of her patients and works closely with a broad network of specialists, coordinating multidisciplinary care to help each patient achieve the best possible outcome.
